Six innovative projects in paediatric health start their acceleration with Impact4kids

The pediatric innovation hub i4KIDS, coordinated by Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Children’s Hospital, and Impact1, have announced the six projects selected for the first edition of the Impact4kids acceleration program. The selected projects based in the United States are JelikaLite, AVaTAR MedTech, and NoviGuide, while the European participants are PolyCoarct, Bitsphi Diagnosis, and CergenX.

i4KIDS returns to the tech event of the year: 4YFN

i4KIDS participated in 4YFN for the second consecutive year, strengthening its role in paediatric innovation. During the event, it established new collaborations, presented innovative projects, and reaffirmed the need for greater representation in child health. The hub will continue to drive research and technological development in this field.

The event reflected on the challenges women face in science, highlighting topics such as inclusive leadership, education in equality, and female visibility to inspire future generations.

i4KIDS-EUROPE publishes report "Challenges and Opportunities for Effective Paediatric Innovation in Europe"

The report, published by the i4KIDS-EUROPE consortium, examines the state of pediatric innovation and includes recommendations to boost the pediatric and maternal health innovation sector in Europe. Increasing public and private investment, easing regulations, facilitating the adoption of innovation, and supporting the creation of pediatric innovation infrastructures in hospitals are among the proposals.

Impact4kids, acceleration program to boost innovation in paediatric and maternal health

Launch of a new acceleration programme, Impact4kids, driven by Impact1 and i4KIDS, which aims to accelerate disruptive technology solutions in foetal, paediatric and maternal health and foster collaboration between innovators on both sides of the Atlantic.

Gate2Brain receives EMA Orphan Drug Designation for pioneering treatment of paediatric brain tumours

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has awarded Orphan Drug Designation (ODD) to G2B-002, an innovative therapeutic candidate for the treatment of aggressive paediatric brain tumours, including diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) and paediatric glioblastoma (pGBM), developeb by gate2Brain, a spin-off from the Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Children's Hospital.
